52 weeks in a year. One photo a week. Telling our stories.
#2, January 13, 2017.
The second week of January gave us good visits while on the road from Gaylord, Michigan to home. In our roles as pastors to missionaries we often visit with missionaries in their homes on the other side of the pond. This time, however, we visited with three missionary families who happen to be living in Indiana for a time. Sweet visits!
And then home.

I didn’t realize you pastored missionary families til now! Awesome! My parents were missionaries who had no counseling/pastoring but could have really benefited from it. They did not get along well…both very gifted and strong-willed, and we 5 children all suffered from it. 3 of us have had major mental/pscological issues, only 2 of us even go to church anymore, my younger bro is the most messed up spiritually, I think. He and our dad clashed from the time he was little. I have forgiven my parents but the hurt and damage lingers, even as I’m turning 61 soon. I began forgiving my daddy back in high school, as I had a great pastor then but It took me many years to forgive my mother after she died. Unlike daddy, She put us kids before her missionary work, but we got no affection, were never affirmed much and never told we were loved or cherished. I always felt so inferior to my super-mother who could do just about anything, and did it well. She was a perfectionist and was critical of my overly-emotional nature. I couldn’t stand up for myself until I was about 40! May God richly bless you in your ministry. Love, MK
