Breezes of Athens. In our last trip to Athens an empty building held the promise of a new community center and church. In this trip we experienced a promise fulfilled! Kilepsi, a refugee section of Athens, is home to this revitalized building.
Worship breezes. Wafting from the Kilepsi building on a Sunday morning are worship breezes. Joy, communion,
singing, scripture, and good preaching – perfect gentle breezes for the Lord’s Day.
Relaxation breezes. The Aegean Sea provided relaxation for the body and the soul. God’s gift to us just when needed.
Kiev breezes. God is blowing through this city of great need. In Logos Center, a home for Ukrainian refugees displaced by war in eastern Ukraine, women gather to study God’s
Word and encourage each other. Over a good cup of tea and sweet maple candy God touches their hearts.
Healing breezes. Through the hands of Pam and Jamie, ReachGlobal missionaries, God is bringing healing to the hearts and lives of displaced people and the families of special needs children. As life needs are met, God is introduced as the true Healer and Savior. His goodness sustains these women and their vital ministries.
Breezes of Thankfulness. It is not easy to see the heartbreak and poverty of refugees in Athens and Kiev, or to see the life difficulties of special needs children and their families. But, it is possible to be thankful that God sees and knows, providing His care through men and women partnering to meet spiritual and physical needs. It was our joy to visit, and for just a few days, offer His encouragement with our words.
