Days of humid mist have been clouding our view of the horizon during our stay on the Adriatic Sea. We have enjoyed beautiful sunsets, calm waters, and warm breezes completely unaware of the beauty hidden by the mist.
But, last night a storm blew in.
Do you see? There they are, always there, but hidden for a time. Beautiful mountains of Italy. Stormy breezes blew away the concealing mist to reveal a delicious morning surprise of beauty.
Mist. Obscuring. Hiding. Concealing. A storm blows through life leaving that which was hidden as revealed. A surprise of beauty.
And yet, there is a greater surprise of beauty coming! We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! I Corinthians 13:12
A lesson learned on the Adriatic Sea coast.
