Beginning a new year can be exciting and even refreshing. But, the fresh start can also be a bit lonely. Transition, whether from one year to the next, or from old to new, requires internal tenacity and a bit of hard work. Hard – alone – work.
Making changes. Moving ahead into a new year. In our home, this week’s conversation with a good friend came with an end-of-the-year admission to feeling quite alone in facing 2014. Do you know that feeling? The feeling that no one is with you in your corner?
Today, and in the days ahead, there is a verse for my friend, you, and me: “The One who died for us – who was raised to life for us! – is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.” Romans 8:34. (Message)
Does your heart leap like mine does to know that the One in my corner is Jesus Christ Himself? He is sticking up for us! Imagine that! 2014. Go for it!
