At the end of this past week we were sheltered in the home of friends. One of us enjoyed the bow hunter’s deer stand, the other enjoyed the rocking chair perched as a lookout over the quiet countryside. Both of us found refuge.

Life has been busy for us, just as it has for you. So much happening all the time causes the spirit to become weary, and so it becomes wise to seek a refuge.

We sought quietness in north central Minnesota, talking to the Source of refuge all the while. His light filtering through the autumnal leaves refreshes. His quiet countryside, marked only with the mooing of beef cattle, gives space for hearing His voice.

And, we find shelter. His refuge. Streams of water. The shadow of a great rock. Jesus. Lord.IMG_7443
